My First Cage Gladiators

Starting to do some archive stuff and probably best to start off with my first Cage Gladiators experience. This was March 2008 and I’d recently upgraded my camera amd just started using Lightroom. The promoter for the Cage Gladiators invited me to take some shots at the event and it was off I went to The Olympia in Liverpool. Didn’t know what to expect and knelt by the side of the ring (I learned to grab a chair for the next fight!) and just took pics hoping what came out was reasonable. It was when I got home with several hundred shots that I became grateful to Lightroom. Picking shots out and trying different treatments made things so much quicker and better. One of the presets I tried was called 300 (bade on the film) – if ever I was going to use that preset now was the time. Thankfully, it worked quite nicely and when the promoter saw the shots he really liked them. From then on I became their official photographer. Sadly, Cage Gladiators has come to an end as new directions have meant changes but a new version of the sport is coming up next month.

Liverpool Photowalk 09

Took part in Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photowalk on Saturday with Peter Carr being the Liverpool organiser. A marvellous time was had by all as we wandered around Liverpool. At one point I got to BaaBar and a whole group of people came rushing out to have their photo taken. The bar itself was practically empty by the time the final group photo was taken.

One Night In Istanbul

Finally got round to posting some shots from the opening night of ‘One Night In Istanbul’ at the Empire Theatre in Liverpool. The play has had a great reception and excellent reviews – well worth checking out.

The day before ‘One Night In Istanbul’ begins running at Liverpool’s Empire Theatre and the excitement mounts. All is going well and everything seems to be in place for a great show. A few quick shots of the cast and crew – been great to meet them, everyone has been so lovely.

‘One Night In Istanbuil’ is a play by Nicky Allt based on Liverpool Football Clubs glorious 2005 European Champions League vistory. During last week I was photographing the rehearsals and some promo shots which have gone into the programme for the play. Cast feauted include; James Spofforth, Ann Marie Davies, John McArdle, Steven Flecther, Matt Wilde, Anthony Goddfrey, John Bishop and Tony Caveney.

An Evening At Chloes

I photographed a night at Chloes in St Helens last week for a promo spot. I’ve not had a drink in St Helens for eons but it was interesting to see how the place was trying to compete with a Liverpool or Manchester. It was much quieter than either city but at least there was some colour about (and some very attractive girls too).
